I'm the Practice Manager for 3 of our 5 AAHA accredited, small animal practices, located in the Mobile and Baldwin Co. areas of Alabama. My responsibilities include, hiring and training support staff; working with the owners to prepare financial statements and budgets, monitoring key performance indicators and setting fees; maintaining
inventory and an inventory control system; managing the hospital software; implementing safety and security procedures, conducting weekly staff training's and helping staff plan for continuing education; marketing and upkeep of our social presence/brand, day to day operations and work flow.

It’s always a struggle finding the X-ray pedal in the dark, especially when you’re in a hurry while the animal is holding still. You can purchase glow-in-the-dark tape at any craft store for under $5. It works amazingly well and we no longer struggle taking radiographs in the dark.
Reasons I love working in the veterinary field
Working in the veterinary field feels like the best mixture of play of wild abandon, work of intellectual satisfaction, and my true soul's calling. Giving a voice to those who can't speak and being part of a team that is focused on one goal: Helping animals.
