I am currently the Practice Manager at a busy, three doctor privately-owned practice just south of Nashville. I oversee all business and financial operations, including payroll and budgets, staff management, hospital inventory/ordering, and client satisfaction. I feel like that may have just been the tip of the iceberg though!
Favorite Vetcove Tip
My favorite tool is the previous orders/item analytics! I use this for so many different things! I can see how many I normally purchase a month, analyze trends in hospital sales, and I can monitor vendor price increases. The best part - I'm not switching back to my practice management software for any of these! Score!
Favorite Veterinary Life Hack
A useful hack when reconstituting medications is to poke a needle into the bottle of powdered medication before injecting the sterile solution - This will alleviate any pressure that normally builds up and makes the process a breeze!
Reasons I love working in the veterinary field
The reward! I find value in advocating for a field that is frequently underestimated. The highest standard of care offered is not the same at every clinic and I work in this field to show what our patients truly deserve.
